The RFX Pro brake pedals are designed and tested for use at the highest level.

The Pro brake pedals are made from 7075-T6 aluminium and feature a forged OEM-style axle. The smooth finish of the axle helps reduce wear associated with a knurled design.

The Pro flexible tips are made from CNC machined aluminium billets and feature a spring-loaded rotating tip that, in the event of an impact, such as in a rut, rotates to reduce damage. The tip also has steel teeth for better grip in muddy conditions.

The Pro flexible tips also include a stop on the rotating tip, which limits the tip to a 90-degree rotation, preventing damage that can occur if the tip rotates under the clutch cover.

The brake pedals also incorporate a cable brake snake, helping to prevent the pedal axle from bending in the event of a collision.

Features:

  • New solid tip made from 7075-T6 billets, featuring a flow design.
  • New 2-position adjustment on the tip.
  • New optional hard-anodised version of the tip available for current models.
  • New style of brake snake with adjustable clamp.
  • New hard black anodised shaft to prevent corrosion and reduce wear.
  • Replaceable stainless steel teeth for better grip.
  • Complete with bearings and bushings for certain models.
  • Laser-etched logo.

Assembly Instructions:

  • Start by noting the height of the tip of the pedal in relation to the footpeg.
  • Remove the R-clip or cotter pin from the back of the brake bolt located behind the frame.
  • Remove the pivot bolt that holds the pedal to the frame.
  • Detach the return spring from the pedal and let it hang.
  • Turn the pedal outward to expose the cotter pin at the back of the pedal's clevis.
  • Remove this cotter pin and the positioning pin, the rear brake pedal will now come off.
  • Take the oil seals from the old pedal, clean them, and put them back on the new pedal.
  • Clean all parts with a multi-purpose lubricant such as Maxima MPPL, ready for reinstallation.
  • Reassemble the brake clevis, stop pin, and cotter pin.
  • Reattach the return spring.
  • Apply Maxima waterproof grease to the pivot bolt, align the pivot hole and put the bolt back in place.
  • Tighten the pivot bolt to the required torque as per the user manual.
  • Reattach the R-clip/cotter pin at the back of the pivot bolt.
  • Once the pedal is secured, adjust the height of the pedal for the correct position and play by loosening the nut above the clevis and turning the pushrod bolt in or out as needed.
  • Now install the brake snake.
  • For Japanese models- Remove the nut and washer from the lower engine mount, replace the old washer with the new washer attached to the brake snake.
  • KTM models- Remove the new washer attached to the brake snake, set it aside as it is not needed on the KTM, loop the cable around the lower engine mount and put it back inside the crimp fitting.
  • Adjust the correct tension on the brake snake, making sure to allow for some pedal drop.
  • Crimp the fitting with pliers and cut off the excess cable.
