THE MIPS SYSTEM: This technology consists of having two independent shells. The principle is simple: to mimic and play the role of the cerebrospinal fluid in which our brain floats. During an impact, the MIPS system absorbs the energy of the impact by allowing the skull to slide along the shell. The rotational forces are thus better dissipated, and the brain does not hit against the skull, thus being better protected against oblique impacts.
