ECE 22-06 is a European regulation that sets minimum safety requirements for motorcycle, scooter and quad helmets. This standard calls for more stringent impact tests, head coverage requirements and performance criteria than the previous ECE 22-05 standard.
ECE 22-06 defines the physical and mechanical characteristics of motorcycle helmets, impact testing, penetration resistance, visibility, labeling and documentation requirements. It is mandatory for the marketing of motorcycle helmets in Europe.
